Students across the Tulsa area and the U.S. will walk out of class Wednesday morning, to protest gun violence.

Eric Garner is the broadcast journalism teacher at Stoneman Douglas and one of the people responsible for making students at the school as media savvy as they are.  

"Recent events demonstrate the need for additional action on the part of responsible gun retailers," the company said in a statement. 

Students in Sand Springs held a walkout Thursday morning to protest the state's budget cuts to education.

Dick's Sporting Goods will immediately end sales of certain rifles in its stores and won't sell guns to anyone under 21 years old following the school massacre in Parkland, Florida. 

Gun safety, guns in schools, and gun laws remain front and center, with some of the debates happening right here in Oklahoma, along with a student-led march for legal reform.
